SBU detains entire families over alleged ties to Russia — authorities

GENICHESK, November 21. /TASS/. Representatives of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) detain teenagers and entire families in Ukrainian-controlled Kherson, as well as in neighboring towns, on suspicion of cooperation with Russia, Yevgeny Brykov, head of the information policy department of the Kherson Region and chairman of the Russian Union of Journalists’ regional branch, told TASS.
“Ukraine targets and detains even young children, including teenagers aged 14-16,” he stated. “SBU enforcers detain teenagers in Odessa, Kherson, Nikolayev, and Kharkov, accusing them of allegedly transmitting photos or information. However, there is no evidence to support these claims.”
Brykov stressed that opposition to the Kiev regime in territories under Ukrainian control affects people of all ages.
“We see the detainees, we see families being arrested simply for showing sympathy for Russia,” the official stated. “The worst part is that we don’t know the fate of these people. We have no way of knowing whether they will survive or if we will be able to exchange them and secure their release later.”
